Shinrin-Yoku

Shinrin-yoku, which translates from Japanese as "forest bath," refers to a profound, immersive experience in the healing embrace of the forest. It involves fully engaging with the natural environment, allowing ourselves to relax, let go of stress, and be enveloped by the tranquility of your surroundings. This practice offers a memorable experience that often leaves us feeling more relaxed, focused, and grounded. Research has extensively documented the physiological and psychological benefits of this natural therapy.

Going In Depth

A typical session would engage and rewild the senses, slow everything down from walking pace to heart rate to neural activity.

When we slow down, switch on our senses, breathe in the forest air and allow space to just ‘be’ we enter into a peaceful and relaxed state of awareness.

This is our default state, and our worries and pre-occupations simply dissolve away, replaced by a new found feeling of awe and connection with Nature without the illusion of separation.

Being guided through the magic of the forest leaves us free to let go of our burden of responsibilities, and step into playful curiosity.

What to Expect

A Forest Therapy Session usually lasts around two hours, but in this time you will rarely walk more than a mile. Forest Bathing is about taking in your surroundings through all your senses, noticing what you can see, feel, hear, smell and sometimes taste in nature. To help with this, your guide will usually offer a sequence of nature-connection invitations.

A privately guided nature therapy session offers a chance to fully immerse yourself in nature through your senses. Tailored to your preferences, we can customize each session to ensure that it aligns with your specific needs and desires, allowing for a deeply personal and enriching experience.

Group Work

A privately guided nature therapy session provides an opportunity for groups to deeply engage with nature through their senses. We can tailor each session to meet the group's preferences and goals, ensuring a customized experience that aligns with your collective needs and desires, resulting in a profoundly enriching and memorable time together.

Nature Cafe

We meet locally and offer free tea, nature based craft activities and introduce forest bathing invitations. Please note we do not supply food. We ask everyone to bring their favorite light snack- sharing if you feel called to do so.

We welcome anybody who is experiencing difficulties or challenges in their mental health.
